DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, March 16th\, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM\, come join the Tall Oaks Loop Walk/Run/Bike event. Did you know Tall Oaks Loop is exactly 1 mile? How many oak trees can you count along the way? This isn’t a test\, it’s about enjoying the journey. The start and finish lines will be in front of the pool house. Walk\, run\, bike\, push a wheelchair or stroller\, or walk your dog on a leash. Time yourself and compare to next year. \n\n\n\nBring a tee shirt or something you want to stamp for a special souvenir. Years ago\, we used to clean the lakes ourselves\, but now we pay someone. Mayor Sprouse lent us a storm drain cover to roll ink onto and then press onto tee-shirts. The result is stunning\, especially when you see it in the mirror! When you learn about storm drains\, you’ll also learn about watersheds. It’s amazing how we’ve become litter blind. Let’s start a lake clean-up campaign in Har-Ber. It’s one way we can cut our HOA fees. \n\n\n\nDon’t miss out on this exciting celebration of nature and community at Har-Ber Meadows! DESCRIPTION:Get ready to flutter into spring at Har-Ber Meadows’ Arbor Day Celebration! Join us on Friday\, March 15th\, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at the pool house for an evening filled with butterflies\, fireflies\, and fun for all ages! \n\n\n\nButterflies take center stage as we dive into the world of these beautiful creatures. Learn how to raise butterflies right here in Har-Ber Meadows. We will be giving away host plants for Monarchs\, Black Swallowtails\, and the elusive Giant Swallowtail\, perfect for your patio or garden. You’ll also get two high-quality nectar plants to brighten up your sunny spots. Become a citizen scientist by reporting your butterfly observations and contribute to our understanding of these delicate insects. Please note\, Curtis Leister is a resident enthusiast\, not an expert\, so while he can’t guarantee plants or butterflies\, he’s full of passion and knowledge to share. \n\n\n\nEver wonder about fireflies? This year\, they’re making a comeback to Northwest Arkansas\, and Bentonville will even have its first Firefly Sanctuary in June. You can help create a Firefly Sanctuary right in our backyard! Participate in a Firefly Catch this summer to identify which species live in Har-Ber Meadows. It’s an easy\, fun way to become a Citizen Scientist. Stick around for two 5-minute firefly videos at the end! \n\n\n\nArbor Day celebrates trees\, so let’s tie it all together. Not just the 832 seedlings planted along Covenant Creek\, but all our trees!
